This issue tells the story of Jim Tarver, a lifelong military man who also happens to be black. As usual the story here is somewhat deeper than what one might expect from a typical comic as this issue shows a progression through the experiences of one man of the attitude of the U.S. military towards black people between the Second World War and the Vietnam War. While it is a good story and in an interesting format, I do feel as though the subject of race and racism has been done better elsewhere...
