The Monolith is a mysterious, almost sentient object that was placed on Earth by The Celestials during The First Host. Virtually nothing is known about what it does or what it is even used for, the last time anyone saw it was when Uatu the Watcher saw a Celestial known only as The Monolith Gatherer bringing it and Machine Man (who was inside of it) onboard the Celestial Mothership.
