Asgardia Inferno
The Good
As things heat up in the nine realms, The Mighty Thor #19 takes a moment to delve back into the mechanics of what is driving this war machine, as well as the forming of Asgardia’s resistance. Things happen in this book but also don’t, it’s a lot of prophecy with a dash of action that leaves you a little ahead from where you were before, but not by much. I have stated in previous reviews that I’m not a massive Alan Davis fan but I have to admit, I really enjoyed the art in this issue so I would imagine fans would really dig this, there are some really striking backgrounds early on.
The Bad
Picking up from the epic ending in Journey into Mystery #642, I was expecting something a little more than what was delivered from the initial opening scene, which to me was wrapped up a bit to quickly. As well as this I would like to have seen the battles a little bit more in-depth but given the scale of events I suppose this would have been difficult to achieve.
The Verdict
The second instalment of Everything Burns doesn’t really go very far, however it does a good job of raising the stakes, and with a certain reveal at the climax that some may-or-may not have seen coming. It set’s the stage for an explosive continuation that I’m sure will have dire consequences for certain members of the house of Odin.
