Sam Kieth's The Maxx, originally published by Image Comics, ran 35 issues and inspired a cult favorite animated series on MTV. Now this wildly popular, long out-of-print comic returns as a series of highly anticipated collected editions from WildStorm! BOOK ONE, collecting the first six issues, introduces us to the surreal yet touching universe of The Maxx, a homeless super-hero who lives in a cardboard box on the street, and his social worker/soulmate, Julie. Featuring a cameo appearance by Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon.

    Notes

    • Death of the Endless in displayed as a poster. Sam Kieth help create her. Chapter 4, Page 5, panels 4-5. Dialogue: "They're all Necro-Nerds. Sand-Freaks./They have tattoos and stuff saying how Romantic death is. But Jimmy Knows the Truth--like me./Death is hard an' cold an' UGLY/Not some cute chick!"
    • In Chapter 4, Page5, Panel 3 (referencing to the dialogue above.) there is a guy dressed up to look like Morpheus. This is debatable to a true cameo.

    The MTV odditty 0

This comic maybe more known as the cult MTV show titled The Maxx.  Strange visuals and creepy story, this cartoon was clearly intended for older audiences.  This tone we know from the cartoon is true to the comic.  The 1st trade seems ported over as the first few episodes of the MTV show.  We are introduced to the core characters Julie Winters (Queen of the Outback), The Maxx (The Queens protector), Sarah James (is the everyday girl Sam Keith depicts so well) and Mr. Gone (The bad guy)  The Maxx...
