    The LEGO Movie

this movie is possibly one of the most overrated movies ever made. everything about it is so impossibly cliche; the characters, the plot, the jokes!! The jokes are the worst they try so hard to be funny but unless you're an idiot, five or high they come off as offensive because you actually spent money to see this. The characters are the definition of cliche and uninspired, oh lets see chosen one destine for greatness, villain with no motive, the jerk rival, and the girl (not to forget the goofy sidekick.) The only reason that this movie did so good was because it was Lego, they took something nostalgic and used it as a wall to cover the massive turd that they wrote and everyone loves it anyway. I never had Lego as a kid so I guess I'm one of the few people who see the movie for what it is, an overrated dumb cliche mess. Why did they make batman the jerk. He is always a little mean or serious but he always comes out on top. Here he's just an A-hole. Oh yeah and the sick irony is the movie is about stopping corporate greed in some way but that was the only reason this movie was made to milk the corporate cash cow. Other movies deviate from cliches to stand out and try something new to be original, it's a huge risk with a huge payoff. The Lego movie however just takes a huge dump all over that and clings to what it knows people will laugh at because THE CREATORS WANT MONEY!!!!! so don't be fooled by it's childish "charms" just remember what this really is. oh yeah and if I hear everything is awesome one more time I'm going to staple my balls to the ceiling

I shouldn’t have liked The Lego Movie this much. In an age of corporate personhood, where every major studio film is based on an established IP or attempted reboot of a franchise from yester year, something called The Lego Movie could easily have been the most cynical and mediocre cash grabs of the year if not decade. And after the first five minutes, you realize, it isn’t any of that. OK, by its very existence it is a bit of a corporate cash grab by Warner Bros. and the Lego Group ...
