Can't Avatar the Last Airbender be in the Marvel Universe ?

#1 Edited by Kazuma14 (1250 posts) - - Show Bio

Uh , Yes because I was thinking that it looks kid friendly enough to be in those type of series , So is that a good plan or No it can't ?

#2 Posted by danhimself (22547 posts) - - Show Bio

no...the worlds are completely different....part of what makes Avatar is the history of it's world...it wouldn't work if you put all of them in New York

#3 Posted by kasino (1785 posts) - - Show Bio

yea looks kid friendly with a very dark streak.

find out Iron Fist is mix between a firebender and Ty Lee

So storm isnt a mutant who controls the weather? She's a water bender and a fire bender who can shoot out lighting? Seems legit.

@danhimself: are you sure ? cause the reason I want a crossover is because Aang and Captain America both slept for a very long time and he might live in ChinaTown cause I read a pilot of Naruto and the Main Character himself lived in Japan unstead of the Ninja world , but I can see what you're saying .

I could see them in the same universe, just a different galaxy on a similar planet to earth possibly back in time. lol
That isn't too far fetched for comics.

Could it? Yes, a universe is a big place. Should it? No, Avatar TLAS would be rather marginalized if forced to coexist with the Marvel universe and really gains nothing as a setting from it.

No

I'm sorry, but this is a ridiculous question. Which I see this OP asking, a lot. Sharing a few similarities doesn't mean two universes can mix. And it isn't hard to try to find things alike in comics. Why? Because comics has a bit of everything. Avatar and Marvel don't mix.

#14 Posted by Kazuma14 (1250 posts) - - Show Bio

@russellmania77: okay , then I guess I'll have to make this up in my fanfiction .

#15 Posted by Husk (453 posts) - - Show Bio

never,.... and I liked the series

but it doesn't even belong in Comic book form. and can't be conceivable.... and Marvel is the second last exceptable company

#16 Posted by Guardian_of_Gravity (2979 posts) - - Show Bio

Oddly enough, back when it was Marvel that did all the licensed comics and not IDW, Valiant, and Dark Horse, Marvel inserted pretty much all the licensed material into the mainstream marvel universe.

Godzilla fought the Avengers

Spiderman shared words with Optimus Prime

Reed Richards had the Doctor's phone number on speed dial.

And so on so forth.

Some, like Transformers, were discretely shifted into their own separate continuities when it became difficult to reconcile them with Marvel as a whole, and to be fair Marvel's transformers line was extremely long for a licensed marvel comic. But most went their entire run within 616.

So actually if Marvel did make an Avatar the Last Airbender comic, going by precedence it would likely be slotted into the mainstream Marvel universe.

Of course that practice kind of ended early in the Transformers' run in the mid eighties.

Why would you want to?

Avatar has such a beautifully conceived pan-Asian world which is poetic and amazing while

Marvel is a big steaming pile of regurgitated feces.....

Yes it is a mixed metaphor....so what?

Marvel is owned by Disney and Avatar is owned by Nickelodeon. It'll never happen.

Not until Disney buys Nickelodeon.

I agree with this.

No. The universe of Avatar is too well defined and detailed to shoe-horn it into the Marvel U. It's got it's own ecology, geography, history, religions, etc. What I'd like to know is how this even cross your mind

#33 Posted by Kazuma14 (1250 posts) - - Show Bio

@blackwind: Understood , but what ever happened to Howard the Duck ? He was overratted .

#34 Edited by Kazuma14 (1250 posts) - - Show Bio

@akindoodle: Simple , Because X-Men and Iron Man were once on Nickelodeon Too , I mean I really saw that happened .
