Considering Wanted wasn't based off a big name property, it's impressive how well it did in the theaters (the movie had a $50 million opening weekend).  Talk of a sequel started way back in July 2008 but there hasn't been much mentioned since then.  Although it was in August of 2009 that director Timur Bekmambetov said he knew of a way to bring back Angelina Jolie's character.

Sci Fi Wire reported that James McAvoy, who played the main character, the Killer, said that he heard from Bekmambetov back on New Year's Eve.

"I got a call from Timur just as the bell struck 12. He said, 'I will call you in two weeks and maybe have something to tell you then.'"

The question is where will the movie go from here?  The first movie started out incredibly faithful to the comic.  Then it veered off like similar to the Killer's curving bullets.  They could stretch things by bringing back Jolie's character through those regenerating yogurt hottubs.  Maybe McAvoy was able to resurrect her by putting her in there right away.  There were also lots of other characters from the comic that weren't used.  Could we possibly see some of them turn up?  Maybe we'll even see the Killer in costume.

Do you think a sequel would work?  Did they kill the chances of it being successful with the way the first movie ended?  Do you want to see Jolie return as Fox?

As hot as she is, Angelina Jolie is becoming unwatchable for me. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. I can't stand her. I really loved her as Lara Croft and in Gone in 60 Second and The Bone Collector, but outside of that...meh. It's probably the overkill of tabloid coverage. Seeing her picture and her name all the time seems counterproductive. I'd love to watch Changeling, mainly because Clint Eastwood directed it...

So, basically, I wouldn't miss her either way. I think it would be cool if she did come back and they were a tag-team, but wasn't that Mr & Mrs. Smith?

A sequel would be kinda cool to see...

Loved the first movie, more so than the comic.

The comic series was indeed an entity unto itself and quite enjoyable.  The movie as most know definitely was a far cry from the comic BUT really that wasn't a bad thing, I keep thinking how challenging it would be to translate all that into a movie that all audiences would understand.   Despite some over the top stuff, it was good.

I agree, if a sequel gets made--put the Killer in the suit, because it is BADA$$!  Jolie, meh, I can take her or leave her, doesn't affect whether or not I'd see a sequel.  Just get a few hot chicitas and I'm good to go.

What really buged me about this is that I was expecting it to be axactly like the comic. Instead its just all assassins rather than costumed villians. I want it to be like the book now if it comes back as a sequel. I thought the comic was cool but why change it so much.
