    The Jungle Patrol was created by a Phantom in the seventeenth century. That Phantom entered the port town of Sanloi and challenged the leader of the pirates, Redbeard to a fight for the crown. Redbeard accepted the challenged, but was defeated.

    Thus the Phantom freed their prisoner, Queen Natala of Navarre, and ended all piracy. He then formed the Jungle Patrol with Redbeard as colonel. Three other ex-pirates, Black Bart, Salla and Crusher were appointed as captains.

    Till this day, the Jungle Patrol operates as efficiently as when it started. Men apply from all over the world, but only ten are chosen. They must pass courageous tests of physical and mental aspects. Only then are they fit to serve.

    Currently, Colonel Worubu runs the Jungle Patrol.
