    When Tony's Away 0

Pepper must contend with both the Hammer Corps and The Grey Gargoyle. And an unseen threat lurks in the shadow of Svartalfheim waiting to entrap Tony.   The Good This is a great cover love how action packed and kinetic it is.   The beginning of this issue does a great job of establishing how war the reach of the Serpent extends. Having sleepers in the realms of Odin really raises the stakes.   Fraction does a superb job of writing Pepper and it's always great to see her in action as Rescue. Pepp...

Capable, but a letdown after multiple AMAZING issues 0

After 3 or so issues of tense, absolutely breathtaking greatness that were all the more impressive for accomplishing that feat while being corporate-mandated crossover tie-ins, this issue is just alright.  Split down the middle between continuing Tony's subplot working with the Asgardian dwarfs and Pepper's with her fighting alongside Sasha Hammer against the possessed Grey Gargoyle, the story is less focused and a bit clunky.  Cutting back and forth between the two plots so often, this issue wi...

With the exception of the last issue, "Invincible Iron Man" has been one of the few impressive "Fear Itself" tie-ins. They've been a well-rounded mix of solid writing and really strong art. Some of what made this book so good is the supporting cast and the interesting relationships, both good and bad, that Matt Fraction explores. The last issue got away from that, spending too much time on the rather ridiculous dwarfs of Svartalfheim and accentuating their over-the-top foul language and heavy d...
