It looks like the Parker Robbins still hasn't learned his lesson about messing with forces he can't comprehend. He couldn't control Dormammu's powers, he didn't understand the dangers of the Norn stones, and in January he's decided to make a grab for the Infinite Gems. Who wants to wager that's not going to turn out to well for him either?
The Hood
Character » The Hood appears in 369 issues.
Once a small-time crook, Parker Robbins found a mystical cloak and pair of boots that endowed him with supernatural abilities, allowing for his rise to power as a skilled sorcerer and feared crime lord.
Hasn't learned his lesson
Last I checked, it was against the desire of the Living Tribunal to make the gems (well, technically the gauntlet) work together. So he can't do it. Secondly, if Thanos couldn't do it and Thanos is a completely different class, how on earth is the Hood to do it? He's kind of a low level baddie in comparison to the Titan.
okay the dormamu powers weren't his fault dr strange, brother voodoo, and hellstorm excorsized dormamu. The norse stones wasn't his fault either he was using them to great effect untill loki took them but he is going after the infinity jems he is just plain crazy.
P.S. sorry about the spelling of excorsizim
He's already lost his empire, his powers, and his family. I guess he decided why not go all or nothing one last time.
The hood is Awesome! and his arc has been interesting from jump street. Great Villain!
" @turoksonofstone: I was actually referring to Parker Robbins The Hood of Marvel not Jason Todd. "My fault, just read the story where he confronts Red Hulk and was amped "The Hood" I know, lol. Meant to say that.
" @turoksonofstone: I love The Hood. His on my top five favorite villains list. Hope he gets his revenge on Tigra for making him look like an idiot . "lol, agreed. I like that he's an ordinary criminal with MAD ambition!! Who created him I wonder?
" @Shadowsnake89 said:Well it would have been nice to know that the guy who gave them to you could teleport them back to himself at any given time." he didn't understand the dangers of the Norn stones"Did he have to? "
Well that's the end of the Avengers arc for the gems and the Hood. Parkers back in prison and everyones happy, except him and me. What a rip-off!
I'm kind of disappointed with Parker. I like how Bendis tried to make him this vicious threat during the New Avengers run, but he is nothing like Red Skull, Green Goblin, Bullseye, etc. The characters I listed have had personal connections with heroes like Red Skull was a Nazi and battled Cap numerous times, Bullseye made Daredevil's life a nightmare, Green Goblin was Spidey's nemesis and controlled the government (but that seemed more like realistic power). All that Parker does is obtain powerful artifacts and try to rely on magic. I would not mind an overhaul of the character like change his background that he was a terrorist. It sounds weird, but that would add more villainy to him. Just a thought and sorry to Hood fans if I bashed him too much!
I like Parker but I think Mr. Bendis is straying to far from his original character. I especially found his Dark Reign issues to be very good and wish he would have kept the character in that position.
But that's the problem. Robbins used to be one of the big time players thanks to the powers he possessed. He and his gang raked in millions; and when he crashed, he crashed hard. Now he's basically a junkie, doing whatever he can to get back to the level he was before everything was taken from him. And a person in that state is extremely dangerous.
