“PINK ELEPHANTS.” It's New Year's Eve at the Green Lantern Citadel and all the Lanterns are on duty awaiting any trouble. Guy Gardner decides that all the Corps should loosen up a bit and party but when they refuse he spikes the water supply, getting everyone drunk. Cheers.

New Years Eve in Los Angeles, at the Green Lantern Citadel, Hal Jordan, Arisia, Ch'p, Salaak, John Stewart, Katma Tui and Kilowog are monitoring the events around the globe, much to the disagreement of Guy Gardner, who believes the team should be out partying. Then after being no that it is their duty to watch for threats, Guy hatches a plan to get them all drunk without out them knowing.
Guy uses his ring to find a chemical that will get the humans and the aliens drunk. He put the chemical in the Citadel's water supply and quickly everyone gets drunk and acting strangely. Salaak passes out, Ch'p gets emotional about is home world being destroyed, Kilowog gets depressed about the events in Russia and the romantic couple break off to do "couples' stuff".
Guy enjoys his mischief until Kari Limbo shows up and drugs him with the same chemical and drinks some herself. This causes Guy to act like a child and fly around outside. Meanwhile Hal and Arisia see Kari and Arisia acts jealous, but Kari explains she doesn't love Hal anymore, she is still in love with Guy. Stewart and Katma break up the argument by announcing they are engaged.
Then the Citadel starts getting attacked by pink Elephant type monsters. Guy uses his ring to sober up Hal, Arisia, Stewart and himself to fight them. It is a losing battle until Hal realizes they are not real monsters, they are Salaak drunken dreams brought to life. So Guy wakes up Salaak and the monsters disappear.
Later, the team is mad at Guy for tricking them, but Kari tries to confess her love to him. All the pressure makes Guy angry, and he flies off claiming he is going to be the new leader of Justice League.
Somewhere in space Star Saphire and Hector Hammond reveal their plan is working in their latest attempt to kill Hal Jordan and destroy the Green Lantern Corps.
