The Green Hornet ongoing has Britt Reid Jr as the current GH, the original Britt killed in the early issues. The current Kato is Mulan Kato, but the original Kato is still around and still kicking ass.

There is an upcoming Hornet title featuring the originals I believe, written by Mark Waid. Not sure if it's taking the place of the curren GH book though.

Should I wait to jump into Green Hornet for the upcoming title or could I just start picking through the backlog.

@SteveMcQueen36: The best place to quickly catch up would be issue #29, but you wouldn't be missing much. The preview I read for this weeks issue (#31) looks like it gives a good idea of what's going on. I've been reading since the beginning, and I enjoy it. Jai Nitz has been writing and he did an awesome job on Kato Origins.

The new title should be good also. I think Mark Waid is going to do a good job. http://www.comicvine.com/news/mark-waid-to-write-green-hornet-in-2013/145320/

@SteveMcQueen36: My personal recommendation is to start with the first ten issues of the series, then move around from there. The first ten issues were supposed to be a Green Hornet movie, but fell through. It is badass and way better than that Seth Rogen "interpretation". It is by far, one of my favorite comics.
