Vance was a professor until a laboratory explosion gave him strange powers of x-ray vision and he decided to channel his new abilities into a career as the stage performer, The Great Video After awhile he decided he would use his x-ray vision and status as a man of the stage in order to fleece his unsuspecting audience .
Marvel Boy was present when Vance gained his powers that turned him into the Great Video and decided to put a stop to Video's crime spree. After setting a trap for the greedy scientist/performer, Marvel Boy made quick work of The Great Video and his thugs. Marvel Boy also used his quantum bands to remove the radiation from The Great Video's body, thus eliminating his threat. The Great Video was subsequently arrested and any further exploits of his remain unrecorded.
