    Secrets Revealed! 0

Gail Simone and Ethan Van Siver have been crafting what seems to be a story plot that takes place around the whole word. Does this issue help contribute to the huge conflict?  THE GOOD: I really like the art. I like the way it looks almost misty in some places. I get the feeling of painted work into the art and I like the way it does it. Anyways, I really like the story and it reads almost like an action movie. We get to meet a very likable villain and feels terribly sorry for him and his allies...

Aw, All He Wanted Was a Picnic 0

Answers begin coming in as Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver lay out their vision for the new Firestorm mythology in this issue. It involves mutually assured destruction and the superhuman equivalent of loose nukes. This is one of the few titles that can make a legitimate claim on being new and relevant as per DC's stated goals, but it still has a ways to go to really establish its ambitious new status quo. This issue ties Firestorm directly to the subject of nuclear weapons as the Firestorms of s...

    One long fight scene 0

Art - Lines are inconsistent. Ranges from pretty bad to pretty good and it changes from panel to panel. However the colors tend to even it out and make it average.Story - This is focuses more on telling the readers what is "really" going on, but they do so more or less during a long fight scene. There is nothing good about it, but I do question the reveal that Stein was terrorist because in the same issue we are informed that Firestorms were supposed to be given to nuclear capable nations which ...

    Inner Space Astronaut 0

This issue hits a lot of high points, but in the end can't help itself to miss the mark a little.  this issue starts off going right almost from the beginning with an introduction to a new villain and a better explanation of the Firestorm Protocol.  As the issue progresses though the explanation of the Firestorm Protocol becomes even clearer (while also adding a bit of suspense) and then unfortunately for the issue the main heroes step in.  At this point the two heroes - Jason and Ronnie - are t...

I Can Definitely See Gail Simone's Touch Now 0

The Good: The cover is much better than the last issue. We get to see the full parallels of the 2 Firestorms, and the way they're balanced on the cover is pretty great overall. But what really sells it is the downright creepy background they're transposed over. Helix is just.... REALLY creepy. Honestly, everything about Helix is what makes me REALLY see Gail Simone in this. He's creepy and psychotic in an interestingly subtle way, and each page just continues to twist and turn our view of him. T...
