The Force
Concept » The Force appears in 522 issues.
The Force is an energy field that binds together all life in the Star Wars universe. Only some have the power to wield it - either as a force for the Light Side or the Dark Side of the Force.

" There have been threads discussing this before. I said Starkiller, and everyone was like: "Nuh-uh! Nuh-uh! There's a guy in this one book who's ten times as powerful as Starkiller!" "Starkiller = weakling.
" @JediXMan: You were one of them, weren't you? "Probably.
Let's match feats:
Luke Skywalker:
Manipulated black holes
Was so fast that he looked like he had 20 lightsabers
Can teleport an object (called "fold space")
Took a hit from an AT-AT without flinching
Knocked over said AT-AT with ease.
Rebuilt a fortress with only telekinesis (and later destroyed it with the same method)
Palpatine:
Creating a worm hole that was capable of either transporting a single person from one planet to another or ripping an entire fleet to pieces.
Transferred his soul into other bodies.
Beat Luke Skywalker in Lightsaber combat (though to be fair, Luke wasn't as good as he'd later be. He was still at the level where he took a hit from that AT-AT - yeah, that's Luke before he reached his prime)
Mass Force-drain (drained the population of Byss slowly over time)
Darth Nihilus:
Held together a ship through sheer willpower.
Transferred his soul into objects and could posses / animate them (that was his armor, not his body, that was in KOTOR II)
"Spoke" and killed every living thing on a planet (save Visas)
Starkiller:
NOT ripping down a Star Destroyer (it was already falling. He says it in the game and it's shown in the book. All he did was guide it so that it hit the cannon)
NOT beating Palpatine (Palpatine let him win - again, pretty clear in the game and very clear in the book). When Palpatine was actually trying, Starkiller could barely resist the Lightning. However, it was impressive that he was able to resist it at all, and even cause it to backfire (but again: Starkiller died and Palpatine walked away without a scratch)
Beating Darth Vader (kind of impressive, but Vader isn't that good)
Yoda is more powerful than Palpatine isn't he? In ROTS, it was pretty clear he was better with a lightsaber, and easily countered Palpatine's force lightning.
Just out of curiosity, was Obi-Wan more powerful than Anakin at the end of ROTS, considering they were both in their prime.

Matching feats with feats, Palpatine is a lot stronger.
No. That battle, you could say, was the result of CIS. Anakin was stupid and attacked Obi-Wan without using his head.
" Luke Skywalker, Palpatine, and Darth Nihilus are the strongest.Luke? No way, you saw what Exar did to him, correct?

" @geraldthesloth: 1. I don't think that was Grandmaster Luke. 2. Exar Kun is also one of the strongest in Star Wars. I forgot to mention him and Naga Sadow. Shame on me. "1.It was Grandmaster Luke after he built the new praxadim or whatever it's called on Yavin 4, Kun's spirit appeared and ripped the soul straight from Luke.
" @geraldthesloth: My mistake. What I mentioned about Exar is still true, though. "Oh, I agree since the two of them made my list..I was just saying since everyone's bound to say Luke.
What?" @JediXMan: lol! "
@Deranged Midget said:
We're comparing all canon feats. Yoda pales to others." @JediXMan: Ok, are matching up all feats or just from the end of the film? I would say they were on par considering that Palpatine was surprised that Yoda was absorbing the attack and they both flew off. Kind of off-topic but who would you consider best with a lightsaber/best swordsman? "
The best swordsmen are:
Marka Ragnos
Yoda (best during the time of the Clone Wars, anyway)
Kyle Katarn
Mace Windu (second best during the Clone Wars. Note: the Clone Wars weren't home to the best Jedi or Sith)
Jacen Solo
Luke Skywalker
Palpatine
Exar Kun
That's off the top of my head.
And i thought I knew alot about Star Wars... You know a lot about the expanded universe, that's where my knowledge is limited. I so need to start reading more Star Wars comics. >_>.
But I agree with your choices.
Palpatine
Luke
Nihilus
Starkiller is pure crap.

do you think usung just sword play he still was the best? mean there were mughty swrod user like mace windu and yoda, and i dont ever remember Luke as the best swordsman (he didnt even master his own three forms if im not mistaken, please correct me if i am)
" @Jotham said:Take into consideration that when Luke was able to manipulate black holes and do all those great feats, he was of an oldler age, had more experience, and more training. If you compare Starkiller with Skywalker when Starkiller was still alive, he would be considered as one of the most powerful force users at the time out of the Jedi. If he lived on, which he does in somewhat of a way in the force unleashed 2, his power would grow, making him stronger, and probably stronger than Luke. The reason why they didnt do this in the game, along as the reason why he wasnt able to kill Palpatine was because it would interrupt the original story, making several fans of the series angry." @JediXMan: You were one of them, weren't you? He may not be the strongest of all the force welders, but he is definitely close.
No one can be the most powerful bc no one has mastered the force and everyones skills vary... Yoda may be better at telekinesis and lacking in force lightning while someone else would be the opposite. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and everyone will eventually meet their match
Power?
It has always fascinated me, throughout both trilogies, that the Sith and other evil characters gauge each-other on the basis of 'powerful' or 'weak'. The Jedi, by contrast, prefer to use the phrase 'strong in the Force'. So we have a number of examples of collapsing this or destroying that. But perhaps the greatest feats of the Force have little or nothing to do with the physical? Perhaps they are a more invisible, cerebral effort that can't be adapted to combat.
@blackadam: luke Skywalker
