    Pulp Flash

In this chapter of the "Pulp Heroes" Annuals we have a two part story. The first part deals with the Flash trying to make a movie so he can bring some income and give the profits to a small town. Unfortunately the rainbow Raider and a Femme Fatale bent on marrying the Flash put a damper on things.
The second story has the Pied Piper dealing with an old crime buddy who does not like that the Pied Piper gave up his life of crime.   The first story is pretty simple and fun. At first I thought it was an Elseworld story.  It was good to see the Rainbow Raider in action again. He is such a product of his time that it is good to see some writers try to modernise him.
Although the parts of the story dealing with the girl, well they really become tiresome.  I wanted to skip over most of her scenes.    The Pied Piper story is my favorite of the two. The writing is more mature and the story is just better.  This is one of those rare occassions where the comics take a look at relationships between villains as people.
I did think of something reading this book. Why did the Flash ever give the Pied Piper time to get the Flute to his lips?
any way this is a good book. I can recommend it with confidence.
