Flash #1 review
This book is great, and after all of the dark and depressing stories the big 2 have been churning out recently. This is a breath of fresh air. For me it had the feel of a classic superhero tale. The opening sequence in which Barry dismantles the Trickster's get-a-way vehicle is brilliant. The art is also absolutely gorgeous, Manapul deserves a pay raise after this.
Usually in comics when a character is brought back from the dead, the cover-up story for the character's return and where he/she had been isn't even touched upon or it's a poor excuse. Not with Allen's return however. It has a great scene of Barry and his Co-Workers interacting, and him returning to forensics at the Central City Police Dept. There is also a really funny line about the Weather Wizard that had me in a big smile. and While this comic is, bright it's certainly not overly bright, where it makes it not enjoyable. With the possible death of one of his rogues, and visit from some bad seeds from the future, it looks like our good buddy is in for a great who-dunnit mystery, and a hell of a ride.
4.5 stars, I highly recommend this one!
