Hob Gaddling and his wife Peg (aka "Jim" from The Sandman #53) meet with their son who is on leave from the navy. Caught in a cellar during the bombings, Peg suffers a heart attack and dies shortly after,
Criminal Jack Constantine has been robbing bombed out science labs, but is ultimately caught by a persistent policeman.
Hettie and Hob, both immortals, console each other and vow to meet again for a date in Piccadilly when the war is over.
