Time War: Fall of the Time Lords

#1 Posted by Methos (40103 posts) - - Show Bio

it's just come to my attention that Christopher Eccleson has been approached by the BBC to film a TV movie of the Time War, which will show the transition between Doctor's 8 and 9...

Just a quick fan trailer of what this might look like...

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with this, the Time War has always been spoken about in reverence in the Dr Who universe, it will be nice to actually see an explanation for what actually happened...

This was we might actually get to see Gallifrey finally lol

Gallifrey's fate

Wow! If they do it, it'll be a brilliant movie. It's almost a shame it's not a big budget, movie-theatre type

yeah... seeing the Time War at the cinema would be a jaw dropping experience...

hell, i'm just happy they've got the balls to actually do anything with it lol

I hope they do. Their effects are getting better, some of the stuff in the new Torchwood has been really good. Shame I've missed two episodes :P

They have my vote for Eccleson stepping back into the Doctor's shoes for a movie. It always bothered me when they mentioned the war and we never got to see it.

it would be a kick ass movie

wait i know Dr. Who doesn't want to go to his planet so he doesn't pretend they're alive, but i think he should go back so he cn get hi cloaking device fixed and warn them about the war.

it's only ever been talked about in passing...

it's mentioned in his origin story because the Time War started, well it started for Gallifrey, in the ancient past, though it started for the other race in the distant future, but noone's sure who started it lol

it's very complicated and i'm surprised they've got the balls to even attempt it lol

his planet, Gallifrey, doesn't exist anymore...

it wasn't destroyed, it was wiped from time...

there is no 'going back in time to fix it', it was literally erased from the time line

Dr. Who....Movie....

YES!

I am addicted to Doctor Who. I have to say a few years ago I had no idea who the heck or what the heck it was. I just know my ex loved the show and was a Doctor Fanboy to the extreme. He was always talking about it. So when the series came out I got curious, and i watched the first episode, then the next, then the next, and so on and so forth. And now its my crack xP

Oh and thanks to me... EC likes it and Torchwood. We spent the whole day Sunday watching the episodes they were airing on BBC America xP

lol... yes, Dr Who is amazingly addictive...

i think the reason it's so addictive is because the universe they've created is so rich and versatile, there's millions of stories to be told, ranging from the distant past and the origins of Gallifrey to the far future and how the Human Race will eventually surpass the Time Lords themselves...

Methos, Yes I think that could be it.. Or perhaps Christopher Ecclestion and David Tennant are amazingly gorgeous xP No just kidding, they are nice looking but the storyline is so much better.

#15 Posted by Kiara_Sullivan (30068 posts) - - Show Bio

Course I do xP Neither Doctor was bad looking.. David Tennant is the cutest. I shall be sad if they do another incarnation :(

Man, it'll be awesome to see what they do with the War. Though I have to admit that Tennent did bring me back into the Who-niverse. 4th was my first and 5th my last and then nothing for so long until I found 10th. He is definitely drool worthy ^-^~

Pitty it'd be 9th and not 10th in the movie though...
