Valkyrie returns! Reunited with her physical form, Brunnhilde takes on Amora in an Asgardian clash for the ages! Guest-starring the Amazing Spider-Man!

Valkyrie, finally returned to her original body, wants revenge on the Enchantress. She tells Dr. Strange to cast a spell to hold the Enchantress in place while she kills her. Strange complies, although the Defenders that are here (Spider-man, Gargoyle, and Beast) are worried that Val's bloodlust may lead her to actually murder the goddess.

Some of the Enchantress's harpies attack the Defenders. Gargoyle, drains some of them with his bio-energy blasts and thinks their energy feels unusual. Dr. Strange uses his magic to turn them back into their original form--Asgardian women.

Val and Amora fight, with Val's swordplay against the Enchantress's magic. Valkyrie's ferocity gets her the upper hand until Amora uses a spell that starts turning Val into a tree.

Valkyrie sees the Globe of Souls that the Enchantress had used to imprison her soul for so many years. Her long time in the globe allows her to affect it, and she makes it roll into the Enchantress's leg. Amora's soul is dragged into the globe, and her body falls limp.

Val decides that is revenge enough, and she gives the globe to Strange for safe keeping.

Strange then casts a spell to bring back their missing compatriots, who disappeared last issue, but oddly only Hellcat shows up, with Val's sword Dragonfang.

The Other Defenders go back to Earth via Bifrost, but Valkyrie goes to talk with Odin. They used to have a strong, caring relationship, and he even calls her daughter due to the way that he created her and the other Valkyries long ago. However, she is angry that he never went to look for her when she disappeared, a thousand years ago.

He goes over their relationship, recalling how she once fell in love with Thor, and how Odin had made them both forget about that. Then, when the Celestials came, he was forced to no longer interfere with humanity, which included no longer having the Valkyries reap the dead. He says that he thought she ran away from him in anger about this decision, and didn't know she was trapped by the Enchantress.

She asks why he didn't give her her body back when he found her in Barbara Norriss's body some years ago, and he says she rejected his help. In the end, Odin and Valkyrie partially reconcile, promising to accept one another's strengths and weaknesses, even if Val can't forgive him fully.

Meanwhile, the missing Defenders--Daimon Hellstrom, Hulk, and Namor--are flying uncontrollably through an otherwordly dimension. They are sucked out through a portal, and land on a normal planet, to find a shocking figure in front of them.

Back on Earth, the Defender's housekeeper, Dolly, chats with the Beast's girlfriend, Vera. They try to come to terms with the craziness in their lives. The Defenders show up from Asgard, and fill them in on what's been happening. Strange says he will look for the others who went missing, and leaves.

Spider-Man and Gargoyle decide to go out for a web-spin/fly to relax. Beast and Vera go off to eat to bond. Hellcat and Dolly talk; Hellcat is unhappy about what happened to Val; she feels that Val is more reserved and no longer the person she knew as her best friend. They go over some old pictures, and Dolly persuades Hellcat to look further into her family history. "Satan" told her that her dad was a devil, but now she decides to track her dad down and find out the truth. She goes off to Ohio to try to find him.

Dr. Strange flies through the dimensions, looking for Hellstrom, Hulk, and Namor. Suddenly he is sucked through a similar portal and finds himself face to face with them and the other Defender they thought was dead--Nighthawk, but in a strange new costume!
