The Crooked Man is a character from an old 1840's english nursery rhyme. The original version goes like this:
"There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
and they all lived together in a little crooked house."
The nursery rhyme was written by James Orchard Halliwell and was first published in 1842.
The Wolf Among Us
In The Wolf Amoung Us The Crooked Man appears a number of times and is depicted as a highly intellectual gangster who prefers to use his brains or servants to get a job done.
