Garden of Destiny
So, Batman has been merged with Tharok into a Terminator looking freak. Supergirl is off across the galaxy with Lobo and the Book of Destiny is still lost.
Let's start with Batman. This Haruspex that mutated Tharok and Batman is causing some trouble. This part left me just saying... huh? I didn't see the point. Why join them together. I don't see what was gained. I didn't feel it added to the story at all.
Lobo and Supergirl are heading to the planet of Raan. But Lobo wants to stop at every bar along the way. I must say, I'm not really impressed with Lobo as a character. Rude, crude and juvenile to say the least. I give credit to the writers though, Supergirl really doesn't take any of his crap. She's pretty good at the verbal sparring with this tacky clod.
I do like this story twist. We find out what the Book of Destiny really is, and what will happen if it's not returned to the rightful protector. Now we are getting some mystery and getting something chase here.
Even with the distraction of Batman being "merged" and with this Lobo character being a smart@$$, I did enjoy the issue. I'm going to keep reading this and see where it goes. This Book of Destiny is intriguing me.
I do wonder... does this story line go a long way? Will we ever get to the "traditional" Brave and Bold team ups?
Either way, I'm enjoying it.
