Smell of Brimstone, Stench of Death!; Bat-Mite Speaks his Mind; Batman and the Outsiders last edited by PtitMog on 07/17/22 06:07AM View full history

Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder must face Gotham's fire and Brimstone!

Popular Batman team up title The Brave and the Bold came to its conclusion in a special extra length anniversary issue. The comic ended with a final pairing: the Batman of Earth 1 and the Batman of the Golden Age world, Earth 2. Written by Mike W. Barr and featuring art by Dave Gibbons, the story continually shifted art styles to reflect the various eras of the Batman's career, and it was followed by a four panel Bat-mite comic strip by Stephen Destefano. Despite being the final issue of this particular series, the book wasn't closed on Batman team ups. Although Batman was through working with partners, it was time to think bigger, and in a special 16 page preview insert written by Barr with art by Jim Aparo, the Outsiders debuted. A super hero team of Batman's own creation, the Outsiders would soon star alongside Batman in their own title.
