Batman and Supergirl star in “Death-Scream From the Sky!”

At a stockholders meeting, Bruce Wayne announces the unmitigated success of Project: Globe-Span. Working in concert with S.T.A.R Labs, the Wayne Foundation's array of satellites revolutionizes worldwide communication. Project: Globe-Span's maiden telecast, however, is hijacked by the Children of The Light. The terrorist organization has seized control of the satellite network, equipping one satellite with a laser cannon. The Children of The Light demand the release of their leader, Kahman Abhood, or else they will target Gotham City, from orbit, and annihilate it. Wayne discreetly exits the boardroom, allowing his butler, Alfred, to run interference for him. As Batman, Wayne responds to the Bat-Signal. Arriving at police headquarters, Batman finds the Bat-Signal unattended. The trap sprung, agents of the Children of The Light engage the Batman. Batman flips the Bat-Signal on his attackers, momentarily blinding them. Flooding the roof top with tear gas drives the Children of The Light off. Batman meets with Commissioner Gordon to discuss the case. With 11 hours left on the deadline, Batman journeys to the S.T.A.R. Labs in Midvale, where the satellites were assembled, in hopes of turning up a lead. Searching the scientific industrial complex, Batman discovers the unconscious body of Supergirl.

After she regains consciousness, Supergirl reveals that bouts of weakness, occurring each time she encountered Josh Kimble, prompted her to follow him to S.T.A.R. Labs. Watching Kimble sabotage the Globe-Span satellites, with her telescopic vision, Supergirl rushed in to apprehend the young scientific apprentice. Supergirl's powers fade away the closer she gets to Kimble. Though powerless, Supergirl still rushes to engage Kimble, only to be knocked out from behind. Using her telescopic vision, Supergirl locates the laser cannon satellite, then carries Batman into orbit, within an experimental mini-space craft. Supergirl finds the satellite is protected by a field of Red Sun radiation, the source of her power failure. Unable to get in close enough to destroy the satellite, Supergirl hangs back while Batman takes a run at it. The laser cannon targets Batman's craft, and destroys it. With Batman still within the sphere of the radiation field, Supergirl is helpless to rescue Batman, as the numbing cold of space robs the strength from his limbs. Supergirl uses her heat vision to keep Batman warm, long enough for the Caped Crusader to hurl a batarang attached bat-rope to her. Supergirl pulls Batman free of the radiation field, then swaddles him in her indestructible cape, before flying them both back to earth.

Supergirl flies Batman to KImble's home address. Sweeping the house with her X-Ray Vision, Supergirl discovers a hidden cache of sky charts and laser cannon blueprints. She also finds a cryptic note that tips Batman off to where the Children of The Light are holed up. Back in Gotham City, Batman and Supergirl arrive at "Le Soleil", a popular night club. Leaving Supergirl to scout from the rooftop, Batman descends to Le Soleil's basement. Batman discovers the Children of The Light's satellite control center, immediately coming under attack. Picking up the sounds of combat with her super hearing, Supergirl bursts in, only to be felled by a concentrated blast of Red Sun radiation. Dr. Light, the real leader of the Children of The Light reveals himself. Batman floods the room with smoke, from a capsule in his utility belt, buying Supergirl time to recover. With the smoke serving as cover, Batman disables the radiation field around the satellite laser cannon. Dr. Light remote activates the signal to fire the cannon at Gotham City. Pouring on the super speed, Supergirl outraces Dr. Light's signal, destroying the laser cannon before the signal reaches it. Batman beats down the remaining members of the Children of the Light, before turning his attention to Dr. Light. A swift kick is all Batman needs to take Dr. Light out. With the threat to Gotham City ended, and Dr. Light and his minions arrested, Batman and Supergirl part company.
