    The death of promise 0

    After the advents in the first issue wee Hughie's girlfriends graphically tragedian demise all promise of a happy future is broken until The Butchers Bill is paid.  With a trip to the states a wad load of cash  the promise of super secrets revealed and the threat of a blood soaked future wee Hughie can only stare in awe at one hell of a distraction. ...

    Ennis has displayed his ability to portray the bad ass nature of Butcher effectively, which is nice. What intrigued me in particular was the introduction of the idea of Butcher's manipulative nature; he coerces an old friend, who seems to be called Mother's Milk (WHY?!), into joining his team of hero-killers, and manages to sweet-talk Hughie into considering membership as well. He knew exactly what to say to get Hughie to listen to what he had to say, knew exactly what he wanted to hear (sympath...
