    The First Ever Blue Beetle

The First Blue Beetle comic is something I have wanted to read for about twenty years.  After doing so I have mixed feelings.  You see there is only two new stories to this comic and one is a two page written story not a comic.  The rest of the book is reprinted Blue Beetle and Yarko stories I have already read.

The main story is the Blue Beetle's (Dan Garret's) Origin and it is pretty good.  I love origin stories and this one is good.  Sure by now it is a little formulaic but in 1939 this is a good origin.  Dan actually have motives and reasons for being a crime fighter.  Most origin stories either don't exist of some guy lucks out by getting powers.  It also has the story of Dan's father raising him alone as Dan's mother dies when he is about three to four years old.

I like this book and recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about the Blue Beetle.  Sure many if the stories are reprints but most people still alive never read them any way.  If you don't know where to find these books PM me and I'll let you know.  I gave this book four out of five stars.
