The bigger they are, the more I'm let down.
So I was geeking out about the Thor movie for a whole year while they kept releasing more and more footage little by little. I mean here was a movie on epic proportions and it was made by MARVEL. Anyways, I'm flipping out until the day comes where we finally get the chance to go see it and it had an ok start, everything definately looked a little fake but I saw past that. I understand there is only so much one can do when dealing with other worldly creatures. But my main problem was that there didn't seem to be any life in Asgard at all, other than when there were ceremonies going on but other than that it was like the main characters were the only ones who lived there. I wanted more panic in Asgard! Not to mention the character Volstagg seemed to really "Saturday-morning-cartoon" the movie at times. Then we get to the Earth part of the movie. I understand that Thor landed in New Mexico, but why did he have to stay there? S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ is New York, they could have had him transported there for further study and even had Thor go BACK to New Mexico to get his hammer. But what with the Destroyer and all, there should have been more panic and it would have been better placed in New York. It was unbelievable to me that no one died and they have this god-created machine attacking them. All it did was shoot a couple of cars and a gas station to add some explosions to the scene. I had higher hopes for the movie. Was it a bad film? No, I wouldn't say so...but it wasn't really a good film either.
