    Whoa!

When I think back to the 90s, three of the top artists that come to mind are Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane and Marc Silvestri.  I remember first seeing Marc's work in the pages of Uncanny X-Men.  I was a little bummed when the creation of Image was coming about because I didn't want to see my favorite artists leave my favorite characters.

Marc created the world of Cyberforce.  He went on to create other characters such as Witchblade and the Darkness.  As the business side of Top Cow took more of Marc's time, to me, he sort of fell out of the limelight.  He would still pop up and deliver awesome covers but his work wasn't as in-your-face as some of the other artists whose work was everywhere.

Looking at these glorious 96 pages of work, including penciled sketches reminds me of what I admired before.  Marc is without a doubt, a great artist.  His characters are gorgeous and he retains his own style.  Right away you can recognize his hand when he does a variant cover or promotional sketch.

This collection serves to remind us of the talent he has.  Also included are works from early in his career at Marvel and also characters from other companies such as DC and Dynamite Entertainment.

The only downside is it has a thirty dollar price tag.  You can't really argue that when you consider it is almost one hundred pages and is hardcover.  It is a book that should be included in your library, especially if you've ever admired Silvestri's work.
