    Remember when you would beg your parents to get you a box of cereal not because you liked the flavor, but because you couldn't wait to rip it open to get to the prize that was inside? I bet you never thought that one day the prize would go from being stickers and small plastic action figures to footage from the upcoming TheAmazing Spider-Man movie. That's right, all you have to do to check out the clips from the upcoming movie is point your smartphone at the back of the cereal box, click, and enjoy the show. I know, we couldn't believe it either.

    We got a look at three of the clips that were leaked online earlier today and have included them above and below. The first shows Peter Parker as Spider-Man in full costume and demonstrates how the character in the film won't be deviating too much from the one we've seen in the comics. Basically, he is still as goofy as ever. On what will likely be one of his first nights out on patrol, Parker runs into an armed robber. Although he initially plays the victim, Parker embarrasses the goon in the end.

    == TEASER ==

    Do you know your own strength? Evidently, Peter Parker does not. At least not at first. Although he might only be trying to brush his teeth and get ready for bed like a normal teenager, Parker runs into a spot of trouble when he finds himself unable to turn the water faucet on without breaking it. Pretty funny stuff. We seem to recall another bathroom scene in a different superhero movie from not too long ago, too. Who does it better?

    Finally we got a look at a scene of Peter Parker on a subway train in New York City. In case you didn't know, you should probably never creep up on Spider-Man while he's asleep. Just saying.

    What do you think of the clips being made available on the backs of cereal boxes? Do you think this is a good way to market the film? Are you looking forward to catching The Amazing Spider-Man on July 3rd, 2012?

    Yes. But they could have done the cereal way with John Carter. =P

    Probably a good reboot to do for Marvel movies. Looks closer to the comic book! Gwen and no Mary, web shooters and no web shooting powers/

    I'm a little disappointed people on a subway yet again get to see Spidey using his powers without a mask (exactly like in Spider-Man 2).

    He wears a mask for a reason, to conceal his identity. The people who make Spidey movies never seem to get that.

    You know, if I was a little kid, I would rather have some cheap toy than being able to watch clips from a movie.

    @Icon: He's in high school and still learning so he got freaked out there. Plus, it's New York. No one even drives a car, so of course he's on the subway AGAIN.

    Um, I wasn't complaining about him using the subway.. I was only complaining that he was essentially revealing his identity to strangers, again. Cause you know, in the comics he's usually more careful, even at the beginning of his career.

    The reason Spider-Man 2 had so many maskless scenes was because it is near impossible to get emotion from behind a mask. In cartoons and comics it works well because they're more explicit about what they're feeling and don't need the facial expressions. For proof, see the scene in Spider-Man 1 where Green Goblin and Spidey are talking on the roof after GG takes SM from JJJ's office. They're moving their heads around dramatically in an attempt to make the scene more emotional, but it just looks silly. It's the same reason they did the in-helmet shots for Iron Man I expect.

    You're right, that is exactly the reason it happens. And it makes sense from a movie standpoint because you want the audience to see the actors face, but it feels awkward as a fan of the character to see him acting as Spidey in front of a crowd without a mask. It strains credulity to think he could have a secret identity if he does that.

    I like that Spidey's a smartass in this. He was whiny in the other movies, and never made jokes.

    Its odd to me that clips and sound bites gained some sort of value in society. My cereal comes with special offers for online bought clothing apparel and such.
