Also pepole seem to forget this is more based of of Ultimate Spider-Man, Gwen dosen't die (kinda) and she does no Pete is SpideyI'm so sad that Gwen Stacy has to be played by Emma Stone....cause you know she has to die eventually...and seeing Emma Stone die will ruin life. :(
Dude had shoulder length hair:@spiderbat87: I do not remember Peter Parker ever having long hair in the comics. Not trying to argue, and I am not hating, but that actor doesn't look right with that Brillo pad hairdo. Sorry just my opinion.

Ugh.
@spiderbat87: Was this from the Ultimate or regular Marvel Universe? Just curious. That haircut style is awful. I know you are trying to defend the movie and Spidey and the actor but the only thing that bothers me is that his hair is too "puffy". He looks like the early Steve Ditko version of Spidey which is awesome but that hair-- I just want him to get a haircut. Ha!
So now that we know that Peter's dad worked for Oscorp, do you think he was the one who made the Venom Symbiote like he did in the Ultimate comics?

Probably.

YES OMG YES. Pretty much any doubts that I had about Andrew Garfield in this role (and there were only a few itty bitty ones) just completely went out the window.
My exact feelings.
Ultimate because that's what there basing the move off of more but if you prefer:@spiderbat87: Was this from the Ultimate or regular Marvel Universe? Just curious. That haircut style is awful. I'm actually defending Garfield hair cut more than the actual movie as my hair is about 75% smiler to his.
I'm actually fully on-board for this film now. It has managed to distinguish itself quite well from the original trilogy. Even the whole secrets in Peter's family thing seems to be working well in the trailer. I'm more excited for Spidey vs the police than for Spidey vs the Lizard though.
I am so excited for this movie and with each trailer I get more excited. I think this is going to be a great movie and might even surprise us all in the end
@spiderbat87: No offense meant against you because naturally I had no idea about your own hair but really, I just think his hair is too "puffy". That is it. Parker never had long hair, even in that first image you provided, it is more "emo" or whatever the heck it is. Still not shoulder length. Neither is Garfield's hair shoulder length, it is the top of his head that is too much for me.
OK I've gone on too long about his hair but I hope the movie turns out well, even if it is Sony's version. Just want a decent Spidey movie for a change.
Sorry but I think this looks really bad...Very very bad... and I've only said that about a Marvel movie with the Fantastic Four movies.

I'm torn.
Long before any principle casting was done, I wanted Sony's quickie reboot of the 'Spiderman' film franchise to completely fall apart. Yeah, I know, I know; ZERO likelihood that was going to happen. But I just wanted Marvel to have Spidey back under their umbrella, so he wouldn't be trapped in his own sandbox anymore. Spidey rubbing elbows and snarking alongside other Marvel heroes just happens to be one of the many things I love about the character.
On the other hand, I was thrilled when Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were cast as the leads. Would this have still happened, if Marvel regained the rights to Spidey and chose to reboot him on their own in a few more years? I honestly have no idea. But a part of me thinks it may not have happened.
I'm really liking the more serious tone the trailer has, but I can help but feel that it's going to clash with the outlandishness of The Lizard.
This looks amazing. This movie has now bumped up to number 2 on my must see comic movies this year...
1. Avengers
2. Amazing Spiderman
3. Dark Knight Rises.

interesting, though he didn't make any jokes. The trailer was trying to be serious though. I hope he tries to make jokes when fighting villians or other-wise he won't truly be spider-man
You didn't laugh at "your doorman is really intimidating"?
or the car thief joke, how did he get in the car anyway lol
Personally I am a fan of the first three Spiderman movies and was disappointed when they were doing a reboot of the series. But if this movie is as awesome as the trailer makes it out to be then I will completely forsake the first 3 movies.
