Date night with M.J. concludes with Spidey being summoned to investigate a new, mysterious villain. How will this stuck-in–the-past mobster handle the new world?

In July 3, 1957, thirteen Mafia bosses and lieutenants meet in Las Vegas to peacefully resolve their differences. Missing is Morris Forelli who sends four gunmen to murder the thirteen, then bury the bodies in a mass grave in the Nevada Desert.

In April 3, 2003, the US military tests a pocket gamma bomb in the Nevada Desert. After detonation, a creature crawls out of the ground.

Meanwhile, Peter and MJ have dinner and get reacquainted.

The creature journeys to New York, killing a trainyard security guard, then crashes a meeting between a pimp and two of Morris Forelli's men, killing the mobsters and destroying the building to send a message.

Later at the crime scene, Lt. William Lamont finds a handprint embedded in a steel beam.

Attracting Spidey's attention, he brings him there, telling him the hand impression's fingerprints come from several mobsters, all missing since 1957.

Meanwhile, the creature lumbers into the Abyss disco. Appalled at what has become of the Stairlight nightclub, he begins tearing it apart, drawing the attention of the police and Spidey.

The Boys are back and they bring suspense. 0

I liked this issue and thought the new villain had kind of an interesting backstory. Lamont and Peter's interaction was kind of funny. It's nice to see Peter happy after going for a long spell of bad luck. The chemistry between Peter and MJ is great as always. the art is pretty good as well....
