A Top Notch Spider-Issue
Dan Slott really brings his A-Game with humor on the first page. I was literally laughing out loud for the first few pages.
And there's some great fanservice for both the guys and the girls, but it doesn't feel scummy at all. It's mostly done in the service of humor. This issue also ties up all the loose ends from all the mini-series. Again, this was the best-handled event at Marvel for 2011. Everything led into everything else and it all worked so perfectly together.
I KNEW Carlie would remember that she figured out who Spider-Man was and that it would lead to bad things for them. I mentioned it in my last 2-3 reviews. Feels good to be vindicated there.
This issue was everything I want in a Spider-Issue: humor, angst, MJ, and clones. (OK, so I've never been into the whole clones thing....) If you've been reading #SpiderIsland you should definitely not miss this issue even though it's tagged as an epilogue. With their summing up, it's not even that bad of an issue for jumping into Spider-Man (although it's definitely not the best for that).
I think it's a definite buy. If you really want to see my brother and I got really into depth with this issue, check this out. Although, we're super-spoilerific there.
