Synopsis: Can Spider-man save The Avengers Academy from themselves?
What's Good?
The Spider-Man team-up with The Avengers Academy comes to a close, and while it did turn out to be clique, I like the way it was handled. Compared to the last issue, this was a reminder of how Spider-Man handles himself under the pressure. The Academy kids also handled themselves great as well.
It seems like my lack of disappointment in the last issue without a Infested story was answered by Dan Slott as Stage 3 introduces another victim. "Great Responsibility" is another great take with someone gaining powers. Walter Coleman is just a guy looking out for his family and that's what he does when he saves them from being burnt to a crisp. In his position, it sounds selfish that he worries about his family first then his neighbors, but that's human nature. Reading these kind of stories with Infected really gets me hyped about Spider-Island.
The last story, "The Choice" is a likeable story too with Peter doing something good for a C-listed villain who was trying to support his family. Peter doesn't always have to be Spider-man to do something good.
Again, Rilley Brown's artwork is still pretty average for the main story. He does get the job done however. I was more impressed by Rios' artwork for the Infested story along with Javier Rodriguez's artwork with The Choice.
What's Bad?
Like I wrote before, the main story comes off a bit clique and predictable, but it works. Like I said in the previous issue, I just don't care for the villain.
Overall: The second part turn out to be better than the first. Add in two more stories and this makes this issue more enjoyable to read. Dan Slott returns in the next issue, and he's bringing in Anti-venom.
