Where Is Your Spider-Sense Now?! 0

THE BASICSPeter builds a device meant to interfere with the "Spider-Sense" of Smythe's insect army, but learns that it could affect him and his own sense just as much.MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEFEver see a plate spinner? Those guys who spin multiple plates while they're balanced on top of long sticks? That's kind of what I imagine Dan Slott's plotting would look like if you translated his work into something other than storytelling. He does a great job of managing multiple scenes and scenarios wit...

Amazing Spider-Man 654 0

THIS ISSUE IS IMPORTANT! THIS ISSUE MATTERS! EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE FROM HERE ON OUT!!! Or at least, that's what Marvel says. With a build up like that, it's actually quite easy for a comic book to fall flat on it's face and disappoint readers. Hopefully the guiding hands of Dan Slott can maneuver Spidey through this hype and keep the comic surprisingly fun. With Stefano Caselli on board, chances are pretty good, so let's dive into issue 654 of the Amazing Spider-Man to find out!         ...

Big Time Rush 0

Jameson lands the spaceship successfully in a space station with no way back to Earth, while the rest of his family is still in trouble with the Spider Slayers. Big things happen, and we get out new Venom.   The Good: Once again, Dan Slott does not disappoint. Every single issue has been great since he took over, and this is no exception. Stefano Caselli's artwork is beautiful, and it definitely suits the book very well. We get a lot of good action, a lot of great writing, and this book actually...

Stumbling At the Finish... 0

I had been really liking Dan Slott's new direction on Amazing Spider-Man.  I enjoyed the  fun, and more importantly, DIFFERENT approach he had been taking.  It seemed like we were actually going to see old Pete's luck change for good here, after being surrounded by such death and depression throughout his fictional life, and indeed that had dragged down much of his story arcs in recent history. Well excuse my French, but Slott fucked that up.  The Good We're at the tail end of Alistair Smythe's ...

Big Time changes are in store 0

Synopsis: Conclusion of Revenge of the Spider-Slayer. Also meet the new host for Venom! What's Good? After the end of the last issue, I thought Max would figure out Pete's secret, but in classic fashion, he's closer to the truth than he realizes. Dan Slott continues to make this story a fast-paced one even with the New Avengers in it. Like how Peter called the New Avengers for backup, I like how Peter is using the other options that are given to him like his new job to create a device to counte...

Arc really picks up at the end. 0

This issue is great. It picks up the arc at the perfect moment and saves a stale and kind of bland arc. The art is great and it seems as if Stefano Caselli has got a hang of drawing Spider-Man and was only warming up on the first 2 issues. It's great and I can't wait for him to do arcs in the future. The story continues its good form and wraps up VERY VERY nicely. And without out spoiling anything there are a few events that will have major consequences. The only fault I have with this issue is ...

A Tragic Death for Jameson 0

After developing a new device at Horizon Labs to destroy the Spider Slayer's insect soldiers, Peter Parker puts himself in danger by creating a weapon that could destroy his enemy's spider sense, as well as his own. With the minions of the Spider Slayer's army attacking all over town, Peter puts himself on the line when he has no choice but to detonate the device while in the blast radius. Peter may have lost his ability to dodge incoming attacks, but Jonah loses something far more precious -- h...
