    Can Spider-Man Handle A Lot of Spider-Slayers? 10

Big Time continues but we know Spider-Man's luck can't hold out forever, right? Get ready for a boatload of Spider-Slayers plus the return of Mac Gargan as the Scorpion.  The Good You want character development, that's what you get with Dan Slott writing. I may not be crazy about Carlie Cooper and Peter Parker as a couple but there's a nice conversation involving the two. We also see more of Peter's cast of supporting characters including Flash Thompson and Betty Brant. While setting things up f...

    Amazing Spider-Man 652 1

BigGER Time! Okay, well maybe it's just as big as before but still, Amazing Spider-Man continues the Big Time story line and moves forward with part 2, the Revenge of the Spider-Slayer! What sounds like an amazing (hehe) B-Movie title is in actuality Mac Gargan and Alistair Smythe out for vengeance against J. Jonah Jameson, the man who has wronged them so many times before! It's up to Spidey to save the day. So with that on your mind, let's see what Dan Slott and new story artist Stefano ...

    Bugging Out 0

It's almost bizarre to see Spider-Man actually going through what can be called an "upswing" in his life, but as more of Dan Slott's "BIG TIME" issues go by, it seems like old web-head might finally be out of his rut.  Of course, as is customary, Spidey's rogues gallery has something to say about that, and it may spell bad news for Peter Parker.  Issue 652 continues with emphasizing Pete's new lifestyle.  He's got a new job, a new girl, and a new sunny outlook.  Of course, bad things are a-brewi...

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs... 0

Synopsis: Can Spider-man stop Alistair Smythe and the new and improved Mac Gargan aka Scorpion from sabotaging a space shuttle with Jameson's son on it? Also, The Looter makes an appearance in the second feature! What's good? The beginning of this issue just hit a warm spot in my heart. Not only is Peter feeling good about life, but he's enjoying it with most of his friends and family: his girlfriend Charlie, Aunt May, Jay Jameson Sr., Flash and Betty (back together if you haven't heard) and Ma...

    "Bug" Time..get it? I'm so Lame T_T 0

Hey everyone!  Finally done playing catch up with the Spider-Man comics!   Spider-Man # 652  follows right on the heels of the Hobgoblin arc by introducing us to another revamped character. From what I've read of Spidey's Big Time so far I'm definietly feeling like Slott's following Brand New Day's "Gauntlet" formula by introducing us to a weekly "Bad Guy 2.0" system. Not that I'm complaining because this means we get less Freak, Raptor, and Screwball and more Rhino, Doctor Octopus, and Mysterio...

Imagine Finding One Of These Bugs In Your Shoe 0

THE BASICSTwo of JJJ's biggest "fans" team up to wreak havoc in his life and kill those he loves.MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEFWith each book of his I read, I grow to like Dan Slott more and more. I don't know about his work outside of Spider-Man related books, but he just nails Peter Parker. Nothing about his Spidey feels out of character or off in any way. To me, at least. Your mileage may vary. This has what has got to be one of the funniest opening panels I've seen in quite a while. This is also ...

Enjoyable, and that's not a bad thing. 0

I don't really know how I feel about this issue... I enjoyed it, read it multiple times, but it just didn't jump out at me as super awesome crazy comic of the year type material. If ever there was a need for a meh rating it's with this issue. Now, that's not totally a bad thing, I still enjoyed the issue, but it was just meh. The art's okay, I like Caselli's drawings of Spider-Man and Scorpion/Spider-Slayers but his art for the rest of the "normal" people seemed kind of, I dunno, I just didn't l...
