Big Time Begins With a Bang 2

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Spider-Man. There's been a lot of push towards the new direction of Amazing Spider-Man. With "Big Time," the series is switching from being published three times a month to two and instead of a rotating team of writers, we now have one with Dan Slott. I have to admit I was a little skeptical with all the hoopla surrounding this issue before it's release.  The Good Wow. This is such a massive issue. If you look at the characters that appear on the issue page h...

    Amazing Spider-Man 648, BIG TIME! 1

BIG TIME IS HERE! Wooo! I for one have gotten very excited for this for quite some time. Now all of the previews with those same first pages of the Avengers swooping in will stop! But seriously, I've been very excited for Big Time. The idea of actually progressing Peter and making him more of an adult after taking him a step back during Brand New Day is perfect, and I for one am excited to see where Dan Slott takes the character and how long this format for Spidey will last. This could be the st...

Welcome To The Big Time! 0

Spider-Man's Big Time starts here!  THE GOOD The sheer size of the issue - It is huge. There are over 40 pages of new content here. The guest stars - The Avengers, Fantastic Four, Black Cat, and almost every "good guy" character in ASM's supporting cast have good moments. Dan Slott's writing - He knows how to mix all the great elements of a Spidey book; Action, Comedy, Great character moments. How Doc Ock is orcestrating a whole big plan with his army of villians. The Mac Gargon ...

    Spidey's Big Time begins 0

Goodbye Brand New Day, hello Big Times, and with Big Times brings big changes in Peter's life.  Pros:  Where do I begin with this issue? First, I love the fact that Spider-man gets to say, "Avengers Assemble!!" at the beginning as this involves Doctor Octopus and his giant sized squid robots invading New York. I'm thinking Doctor Octopus is still upset with the aftermath of Origin of the Species. Not only are the Avengers are on the job, but The Fantastic Four and Black Cat are helping out as w...

Spidey has definably hit the big time! 0

So I picked it up in the store today, and what can I say? It was freaking amazing. The artwork didn’t disappoint at all, even though I had some very high expectations.   Of course a comic isn’t built on artwork alone, Dan Slott’s writing is equally amazing as Ramos’ art. He manages to not only bring forward an amazing presentation of Spider-Man, but also manages to write a story that presents several key characters in Spider-Man’s life to both the familiar and new users in a way that doesn...

Spidey's hit the BIG TIME! 0

*Possible Spoilers* Spideys Back!... I believe this new take on Amazing Spider-Man has come at the right time. The art work of recent issues has let it down, But now we have a new, fresh and exciting look as Humberto Ramos takes on our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. The action begins as soon as you turn the page, with Spidey leading the Avengers to battle against Doc Ocks' Octobots ( try saying that 5 times fast ) which are attacking the city. Again, the artwork is fantastic in these openin...

"Big Time" a Must-Read for Spidey Fans! 0

Spider-Man has been getting the short end of life's stick for a long time. Not only has Spidey had to face a gauntlet of old enemies - TWICE, no less - as well as the resurrection of one of his deadliest foes, but add on to that Peter Parker losing his job, alienating his friends, and dealing with a roommate from hell. Pete's had to navigate a bitter and lonely course these past few months. Now, with a new job opportunity at Horizon Labs, a new girlfriend in his life, and an elevated status with...

    HOLY CRAP!!!! 0

This is the best comic I've read in a while. Now first let's say this right off the bat. I'm probably more than a little biased. Spider-Man is my absolute favorite hero so, there ya go. Now this is the start of Dan Slott's twice a month run of ASM called "Big Time". and what a way to kick it off. This issue is jam packed with spidey goodness.  THE GOOD: I really love the art of Humberto Ramos. It has a really nice blend between cartoony over the top (which fits Spider-Man) and realism. The story...

Amazing Spider-Man #648: Welcome To The Big Time! 0

Tragedy and loss has been happening throughout most of Peter Parker's re-career after the events of O.M.I.T. From loosing Mary Jane due to One More Day to loosing his job as a photographer, Spider-Man/Peter Parker could use some cheering up right about now... Well now is that time! The Big Time is finally here! No more will Peter Parker be the broke guy that has save New York (and also the world) dozen of times. Both Spider-Man and Peter Parker's lives will change, as different events mold ...

Back on Top- So Soon? 0

The opening to “Big Time” was the first issue of The Amazing Spider-Man I’ve read in a while, and it showed me how much has changed since I dropped the book. The last ASM issue I’d purchased before my hiatus was #564 when the book was being published three times a month and we were still at the very beginning of Brand New Day. I dropped the book mostly due to economic concerns, but I’ll admit that Brand New Day hadn’t been thrilling me. I had been one of those fans who believed that Spider-Man n...

    It's BIG TIME 1

Big Time has begun  The Story Spider-man and the Avengers are out stopping Octo-bots. While the Sinister Six and Hobgoblin make their triumphant return. The Good Where do I start? This was a massive issue, we had great action and drama. The art and writing were brilliant. We get to see Peter get a new job and lose his apartment. We got to see some of the supporting characters return and not to mention the Sinister Six and Hobgoblin return which was great. The best part out of all of it was Spide...
