    Review: Amazing Spider-Man #646 0

Tracking the "goblin baby" to the Lizard's lair, Spidey and Doc Ock must team up to save the child for both of their interests.  The Good The real fun of a thriller is the cathartic conclusion when the hero gets his payback and, to that end, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Spidey make a "monkey" out of Doc Ock in such a humiliating fashion. People have had some issues with the art, myself included, but it's really grown on me over the course of this arc. It's unusual, but it gives the roller coaste...

The Origin of Species ends here! I'll just say it here that I absolutely loved this issue. It was similar to last issue with the amount of action and the pacing, but it is very different.  With almost every villian in Spider-Man's history coming after him andthe baby it comes down to just two villians who cared about it the most. After The Lizard took the baby he has done some tests on him. He was able to find that Norman was not the father. Spidey and Doc Ock race to find Lizard and the...

    Not a great issue...at all. 0

Amazing Spiderman Thrice Monthly is coming to an end. No longer will we get mediocre stories while we wait for Joe Kelly or Fred Van Lente and the occasional Mark Waid to write a good two issue arc. Instead we get stuck with Dan Slott, which even though I accept was born to write Spiderman he is most of the times just an average writer. I expect him to redeem himself and make Spiderman awesome again on Big Time but until then...meh. Let's take a look at this issue:  PLOT: Mark Waid is a comic bo...

The conclusion of Origin of the Species 0

The battle for Osborn's newborn comes down to Spider-man, Doctor Octopus, and The Lizard.  Pros: Since any of the villains can't seem to do anything right, Doc Ock decides to take the matter in his own hands. This leads to a battle for the baby with Spider-man. Interesting enough, The Lizard, who kidnaps the baby from Chameleon actually doesn't need the baby anymore, which leads to some unexpected results later in the issue. I love the throw down between The Lizard and Doctor Octopus, as Ock's ...

Well, I'm not gonna lie. That was disappointing. Yea sure, it had all the elements of awesome going for it but something about this issue didn't do it for me. Still,  just like Brand New Day, it succeeded (In a way). It closed the door on Brand New Day quite well, and I'm happy to see where things go from here. But let me explain why by diving into the finale of Origin of the Species!   The issue opens with the Lizard, that's right, the Lizard, taking care of the Osborn baby in his lab, trying ...

Amazing Spider-Man. Issue 646. Origin of the Species, Part 5. This is the conclusion to origin of the species. The last real arc of brand new day and I have to say this issue was fairly anti-climactic. Nothing really stood out. At all. It just kinda was.  PROS: It ended.   CONS: Again with this issue the art was sub-par. The dialogue was forgettable and the issue as a whole was a huge step down compared to 645.  FINAL VERDICT: Now this isn't a terrible terrible issue. It just isn't a great one o...
