All thats missing is Jerry Springer and a Dr Pepper

After reading this issue, I honestly felt that the recent Amazing Spiderman titles and new storylines are just not making it. For this issue that came out at the same time as the end of OMIT Amazing Spiderman issue 642, this whole villain original revival thing that Marvel has for Spiderman is quickly getting old. Kravens return was nice and honestly needed for any upcoming Spiderman titles, but for this issue alone, well,........ at first I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong with this issue. I always get that gut feeling that an issue is made or created wrong, mostly that the fact there is something wrong with it.
Well, lets dig into this issue and see whats up with the first part of Origin of Species.

    The Storyline:
Mark Waids storyline would have an upside with this comic, even though seeing more into Spidermans personal life and relation with freinds is also losing my interest for the recent Amazing Spiderman titles, same problem I had with Peter Parker The Spectacular Spiderman series. Seeing heroes with a life is nice and interesting, but making it to where im reading an episode of FREINDS isn't really cutting it for me, even for an Amazing Spiderman comic. Seeing freinds and family does make the comic more interesting, but digging deeper into Spidermans personal life is really taking alot of space and storytelling from a comic to where a fan would be screaming...................... WHO CARES THAT PETER CANT PAY RENT !!!!
Nearly half of this comic is about Peters uninteresting life that just about every fan knows of already, like we dont know that Peters life is a little difficult with finances ( god, Peters credit score should be a whole new series on its own )
But Waids Spiderman Storytelling does have its balances, even for what he did for the start of the Gauntlet storyline. Sadly enough, I would say that Waids new Origin of Species would have a start that has no interest for me,........and with Dr Octopus in it, thats not pretty good ( Dr Octopus is badass by the way, if you say different  then **SLAP** ).
One thing I couldn't get over is that im seeing something that looks like a Goat lady flying in a coffee shop with no pants and is about to give birth to Harry's newest brother. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I felt that St Paul is gonna question me about reading this comic before going to Badguy heaven.

But to be fair for this comic and Waids writing, I would have to say it isn't Waid who probably lost my interest. It was the artists storytelling that really made me regret buying this issue.

    The Artwork:
I dont know whats up with Marvel and their colorbook artwork, but come on, are you serious?
Look, I know that fans of this comic may disagree, but after seeing Paul Azaceta and Javier Rodriguez's art with this comic, these two really lacked alot of teamwork. By my theory alone, I would have to give the credit to Paul because of his sketches and display of how Peter should look like. For some reason I felt that Peter was the long lost brother of Foggy Nelson. In other words, Peter looks like something that came out of a Disney film and that really made me stop reading this issue at first and move on to the next comic. Even though Javiers coloring isn't that great as well with this comic, I think that he too was wondering what Paul was thinking when he designed this comic.
I do know for sure that the storytelling from Paul really lacked effort and because of Paul, Javior and possibly Waids storytelling went straight to the can, Origin of Species would have much excitement and interest as the World War II documentaries I see on the History channel thanks to Pauls poorly dull artwork and storytelling.
Remember, it isnt Waids writing that drew this comic and made it appear visually.

    The Badguys:
Oh yeah, a badguy myself can't help but review the baddies in a comic, my new way of reviewing a comic. ( I know, kinda cheap, so what )
DOCTOR OCTOPUS IS BACK, ever since I was tiny terror, I always loved this goggle wearing madman causing chaos for Spiderman. BUT, as I said earlier on in this review, the good old Doctor wouldn't have much of an interest for me because of the storytelling either between Waid or Paul. Barely making an appearance, Doctor Octopus would once again lead what I thought was the Sinister Six, but a group of random badguys on a mission to get something ( revealed at the end of the story, I think? ).

Even though Otto here didn't gain much of my interest with this comic, there was one part where when he made his intro saying something perfect for a Dr Pepper commercial.
    " Trust me,...Im a Doctor "
Doctor my ass, Otto would only have experience with radiation, nuclear, and scientific fields instead of medical knowledge. He should have became a Professor, like Professor Octopus. But I guess he got his degree because Doctor Octopus sounded much more cooler, and it does by the way, so dont worry, im not complaining on how his degree got mixed up with somebody elses.

As for the other baddies, (and yes there are alot in here that we dont see in action). I wish Marvel would have Tombstone graduated to a crimeboss or something instead of some pushover baddie thats just thrown into a crowd.
I HATE THAT,......ALOT, ( and DC's guilty of that with thier Infinite Crises storyline )

    The Conclusion:
Depending on how OMIT went, Im suprised that im the first to write a review on this comic, even for a Spiderman comic. This issue by my own definition, had no attention gainers or interest for me to get the next issue. This comic was just,......dull.
Even though this is my opinion and my alone, I would say leave it alone and either wait till the artist is finally releived, because I personally think that its him who's really butchering this comic. As for the extra veiws of Peter's life that I have no interest for, I can handle, but the artwork?
ITS LIKE READING THE DAMN FUNNYS.
Thats right the funnies, compare and shock yourself because I guess thats what Marvel calls artwork.
Unless you can handle the artwork, then go ahead and get this comic, but as for me? Im gonna do the same thing with OMIT and leave Origin of Species alone, unless the artist gets removed and ill give this comic another try.

Im that Badguy, I review it so you can enjoy it or throw it away.
I thankyou for taking the time to read this review, have a good night and may Doctor Octopus find his next role in a Dr Pepper commercial.

      Amazing Spider-Man 642 0

Looks like this week is one of those beautiful weeks where we, the lovely reader, gets a double dose of Spidey goodness! That's right, it's time for more Spider-Man! It doesn't feel much like it though, since so much of last issue was spent in the past cleaning things up. So this is current time, real world Spidey. And now that he's through the Gauntlet and the Grim Hunt it looks like he's going back to the Origin of the Species.   The issue opens with Hammerhead and Electro meeting up in the a...
