Yipee-Ti-Yi-Yo!
This story arc is unbelievable. Written by Roger Stern and penciled by Lee Weeks, part 2 of Something Can Stop the Juggernaut is incredibly good. Do not misunderstand me, it is difficult to find more superlatives, but this 'review' will be infested with them. Because so much fun, so much of a natural geek fun, I've not experienced since Green Lantern #26 with Alpha Lanterns onboard. The story continues with the appearance of Captain Universe and it seems that our ol' friend Juggie did something terrible to him. Then events unfold rapidly, and all this orgy of destruction can be called in three words - Spider-Man running from Cappy. Also it can be defined in one word - awesomeness. The best scenes, in my opinion, in this whole fantastic book are at the page 14 (I guess), where Spidey is jumping on cars, from one roof to another, the artwork and colors are stunning there, and page 20, where Cain finds SP tiend in a piece of fixture, there feels an oppressive atmosphere and a certain frustration. Only one thing that seemed to me a little weird - dialogues are very clumpsy and obsolete. I know that Mr Stern is a bit old school writer and this issue feels exactly like it was torn from the 80's. It's not bad, it's even good instead, we have a unique charm here, but... was it necessary to link it with The Gauntlet story line? It's a little isolated from the general mood of the series because of its old-fashioned manner of storytelling. OK, I got cheesy xD ASM #628 is this week's the best comic book and you will be def sorry if you miss it.
