"This won't please the Enigma Force!"
In the 2nd part to Something Can Stop the Juggernaut Spider-Man battles the new Captain Universe, while trying to keep himself and the Juggernaut alive.
What You need to know
Last issue it was revealed that the new Captain Universe had brutally beaten the Juggernaut and that he is back to finish the job.
The Good
Roger Stern delivers a strong script. It is heavy on the action while still encompassing the traditional Spider-Man we all know and love.
Lee Weeks handles the art, which is consistent throughout the length of the book.
The Juggernaut isn't active for a lot of the issue, but when he is, he as some pretty spectacular scenes.
I don't know if it was the fact that there was a mini second feature, but this issue felt like we got a lot of pages, which is something I enjoyed.
The Bad
Captain Universe's colors seemed a little weird at times and they seem to change a lot. I don't know if that's supposed to happen, but while reading it I kind of got distracted.
Some character lines were also a little faint.
The Extra! Peter Parker: Unemployed mini feature.
This was a pleasant addition to the comic this week. IT was written by Mark Waid. It follows Peter in his continual search for a job.
Overall
It was a fast-paced, fun read. It continues the Spider-Man Gauntlet, although this is kind of a break as Spider-Man doesn't really battle one of his traditional villains. It could be new reader friendly if you have the basic knowledge of what's going on in the world of Spider-Man. You could get away without reading all of the Gauntlet, but you probably should pick up 627 before reading this one.
