Play by Play and getting fired
Picking up where the last issue left off Spider-Man finds out that the person attacked by the Vulture wasn't JJJ but a security guard. Spider-Man quickly knocks the Vulture out of the building and the two fight through the city. In probably the most entertaining dialogue I've read in a while Spider-Man voices basically a play by play of his fight with the Vulture. Purely one of the funniest things I've read in a while. Also the origin of this Vulture is finally revealed, not that shocking, but still nice to see where he's coming from.
Later on we see a side of JJJ that we hardly ever see and as a result Peter does something that will surely get himself blacklisted. I will tell you that Peter does in fact get fired, but it's in a way that I really never saw coming. He does do a stupid
thing which results in his firing, but still it is a little crushing to Spider-Man and Peter.
Mark Waid with Tom Peyer dish out a hell of a story here, something that will not be soon forgotten.
The art is, well, sometimes I love it and sometimes I don't. Paul Azaceta with Javier Rodriguez do draw pretty consistently though so it's the type of art that has been going on for most of the gauntlet so it's nothing different.
If you haven't gotten this I suggest you do. It's a solid issue and a true testament to the gauntlet that Spider-Man is going through.
