Mr. Parker Goes To Washington, Part 2 last edited by SaveMeAndy on 09/02/23 08:51AM View full history

Spidey's got a new lease on life, new powers, and a new costume, courtesy of his new best friend Tony Stark. So what could possibly go wrong? Lots, True Believer. With clouds quickly building on the horizon, the bonds that Spider-Man now forges may very well determine his capacity to withstand a storm that will shake the entire Marvel Universe.

Tony Stark meets Peter to catch their plane to Washington. On the way, Tony shows Peter a copy of the proposed Superhuman Registration Act and explains that he is going to speak against it. In DC, Peter tests Version 2.0 of his Stark-designed armored costume, discovering the "Waldo" extendable arms. Soon after, Peter and Tony enter the Senate Building, as the Titanium Man watches them. In the hearing, Tony speaks against the Act but is met with harsh resistance from the Commitee. Peter speaks up, reminding everyone that super hero public identities would put their loved ones in danger, but the Senators don't listen. During a brief recess, Peter calls MJ, who reassures him. Tony warns that if the Act is passed, patriotic heroes who resist could be branded outlaws. After the hearing's recess, Peter's spider-sense warns him of the Titanium Man, who shoots at Tony. Instantly transforming to Spider-Man, he battles Titanium Man in front of the Capitol. When the military arrives and shoots at them both, Titanium Man flies away but Spidey webs his back and is towed along.
