The lead news story is about Spider-Man caught on video assaulting Norman Osborn.  This gives the Absorbing Man the idea for him and his lover, Titania, to pose as super-heroes, capture Spider-Man and collect the reward offered for his arrest.
Under the circumstances, Peter Parker's wife Mary Jane asks him to avoid going out as Spidey till the heat dies down; Peter promises to do so.
With Osborn now owning part of the Daily Bugle, Robbie Robertson is stressed, and his wife Martha is not pleased with his continued devotion to the paper and to J. Jonah Jameson.  At the Bugle offices, Osborn introduces Thunder-Girl and Lightning-Bolt (actually Titania and Absorbing Man in disguise) as the pair prepare to track down Spider-Man.
Daredevil, believing his friend and ally is not the madman the press is making him out to be, meets with the Wall-Crawler to offer his moral support.  They are soon spotted by one of several helicopter pilots Jameson has hired
to search for Spidey.  Within minutes, they are attacked by Lightning-Bolt and Thunder-Girl, but the heroes quickly see through the ruse.
During the fight, Absorbing Man damages the helicopter with his ball and chain.  Spider-Man saves the pilot, but the burning craft lands on top of Titania.  Insulated by a thick coat of webbing, Spidey rescues her.
Unfortunately for Peter, Mary Jane saw him in action, having broken his promise.
