    I have to say that Stan Lees plan to write every issue as if it is someones first issue kind of back fires with this one. Sure Aunt May cares about Peter, but when May gets sick, Peter nearly gives up life worrying about Aunt May. I mean to a Freudian level. I understand all through the series Stan Lee writes his characters as if they were incredibly obsessive, no matter the object of their interest. This however borders on the realm of sick.     This issue is quite sad for a comic that came out in the 60's. It shows how much Peter really cares for his Aunt May. When she gets sick it takes over Peter's life. He seems to be living in a stupor where he can only think of helping his aunt. It is interesting to watch Peter essentially 'leave' the confines of reality while he thinks of assisting his aunt.I give this issue 4.5/5...

    "If This Be My Destiny...!" may not seem that unusual an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man; after all, Spider-Man has financial troubles, female troubles, school work, Flash Thompson giving him grief, some generic villains to fight, and problems with Aunt May to deal with. But there are a lot of milestones in this issue. It's the first day of college for Peter Parker, and that's where he meets some new people who will be part of his life for quite some: Professor Warren, Harry Osborn and Gwen Stac...
