super_man_23's The Amazing Spider-Man #2 review

Ock made choices as the Superior Spider-Man, now Peter has to make new ones as the Amazing Spider-Man!

If you need a reason to read, or avoid, this series; check out my review for the first issue! Peter Parker is officially back! However, Ock changed, and introduced, a lot of things in Peter Parker's life (i.e. a company). Now, Parker has to deal with the choices that Ock made and find a way to please everyone that is now in his life. Dan Slott (writer), Humberto Ramos (pencils), Victor Olazaba (inks), and Edgar Delgado (colors) join the Amazing Spider-Man in his second issue at another chance in life!

    The Good

In this issue, Peter Parker is still adjusting to getting a second chance at life. Balancing, the Peter Parker and Spider-Man, aspects of his life is becoming increasingly difficult as Ock and Superior Spider-Man left this world different from what Peter and the Amazing Spider-Man remembers. With finding out how to run a company to dealing with his superhero/villain connections, Dan Slott continues to show us that both characters have their hands full.

Slott severed ties that wouldn't add to the Amazing Spider-Man story.

Slott, in this issue, continues to impress me! He has successfully brought back Peter Parker; and the character now has to deal with the problems, or life, that Ock left for him. This adds a great deal of mystery, or excitement, to how Peter Parker will deal with a second chance at life. Dan Slott did a really good job at ending ties that needed to be cut (i.e. Anna Maria and Ock-Parker's relationship). Dan Slott also revealed the direction of Peter Parker's company; which is to cure and contain super criminals. Things like this is important to get out of the way immediately; instead of prolonging them where they begin to take away from the current story. So a wise move on Slott's part.

I am interested in seeing how this "other" Spider-person well be introduced and how she will fit in with the story.

The artwork by Humberto Ramos, Victor Olazaba, and Edgar Delgado are all handled well. These people know what they are doing with Spider-Man's artwork and I like seeing that kind of confidence in artwork. Their artwork helps make this Amazing Spider-Man series standout; while helping Slott tell his story.

    The Bad

    Too many things happened.
    Too many things happened.

It seems a lot is happening in a limited amount of time (i.e. the normal page limit for a comic book). Dan Slott does answers some of my questions as to "what" and "how" Peter Parker and Spider-Man will continue their lives; but still, a lot of things were unnecessary for this issue. The Avengers, Black Cat, and even this "other" Spider-person was not necessary for this issue. They made this issue feel drawn out and appear longer than usual. They fulfilled their roles in this comic, then disappeared. I would've enjoyed [more] if Dan Slott focused more on two things instead of five.

    The Verdict

I recommend this series for all those that wanted Peter Parker officially back! It's becoming more-and-more interesting, however it does have small problems that could be corrected. 4 out of 5. NEXT ISSUE!

      Electro + Sub-Plots = Great Issue! 0

OVERVIEWIn this issue Dan Slott continues to work out the kinks on Peter Parker’s return while giving us a nice taste of great things to come! We see the people close to Peter finally realizing the truth about the events that took place throughout Superior Spider-Man and it’s nice to see how, aside from Electro and Black Cat, not everyone is going to have a hard time understanding and accepting what happened.GOOD THINGSI am specifically quite happy with the writing for Anna.
