Peter Parker is left reeling in the wake of Aunt May's death. How did this happen? And why? Plus, Peter quits his job at the Bugle when he's had enough of Jameson's harmful bias toward Spider-Man. What will the future hold for the web-slinger when all seems lost?

    Overview

    Requiem!

After receiving the terrifying telegram informing him of Aunt May’s death, Peter immediately makes his way to the nursing home, where he is greeted with the sight of Aunt May in a open casket!

Peter is shell-shocked, but there are more sinister things going on that Pete realizes…His spider-sense seems to be tingling for no apparent reason!

Pete needs to get out, and wanders around the dock, trying to clear his head. He happens across Robbie Robertson, and the two have a heart to heart, which helps Pete a bit.

Upon returning to their old home, Peter finds that the last tenant has TORN UP the entire house! With his mind wildly thinking, he suddenly realizes something about the Nursing Home caretaker that he'd forgotten! He races back to confront the Caretaker, but is nabbed- by none other than...The Kingpin!

    Can't hold it 0

This issue is dominated by Peter's personal life and the loss of Aunt May. Changes come that last for some time, both in leaving the Bugle, eventually going to the Globe, and feeling lost and truly alone. Ludwig Rinehart comes into some focus, and the Burglar's presence, as well as inching to issue 200, had me thinking at the time of release that May can't really be dead, but before that can be dealt with...Kingpin is knocking. A placeholder issue in some respects but griping overall....
