    Amazing Spider-Man #01

Potential Spoilers ahead for Superior Spider-man 31 as well as some for this issue in the problems section

    The Book

So Peter Parker is back in action and I have to say I could not be more happy. Having Peter back this issue really drove home what was missing from the book, and that is a roller coaster of fun that only a character who I grew up with can bring. This issue was fun, it was exciting, and it ended way too quickly despite being double the usual content.

There have been some complaints about Humberto Ramos' art floating and I just do not see where they are coming from. His more "manga-ey" style fits the fast paced motion of Spider-man and it fits with the humorous tone of the book.

It is great to see Dan Slott bringing back a "fun" Peter Parker. Instead of reading each issue and waiting to see how Dock Oc would mess up Peter's life the audience can now enjoy the show and not wonder what further who SpOck was digging himself into.

    Problems

Now 5/5 does not mean it was a perfect issue. My main complaint with the issue is the fact that we're already getting into Anna Maria figuring out Peter's identity. I can understand Slott wanting to get back to status quo and him wanting to wrap up the changes he made in Superior, but this just seemed rushed. It feels like we're treading the same ground we did with Carley. I have to wonder how many people are going to know Spidey's identity by the end of Slott's run on the series, because the list keeps growing.

Another thing I can see many people taking umbrage with is the price of the issue. At $5.99 this book can be considered too pricey for many readers. However at over 80 pages of content, including Inhuman #1 I've got to say it was well worth the price, though I did end up dropping the Forever Evil Batman tie-in that came out this week as well. Although, let's be honest, that issue probably ends with Batman beating Bane.

    Conclusion

All in all I am thrilled to have Peter back and can't wait for the future issues. Why a tad pricey, this issue takes readers on a roller coaster of fun and gave me a joy to see what happens next that I haven't had in some time.
