i know thanos is darksied for marvel and superman has many marvel counterparts. but who is thanos superman, his most hated rival?

I would say Adam Warlock.. although they are adversaries just as much as they are comrades. But for the sake of argument they are two sides of the same coin.. one the Avatar of Life the other the Avatar of Death.

Basically, every one has butted heads with Thanos at some point, hero and villain alike. I can agree with Adam Warlock being his opposite, but I think the Silver Surfer is his 'Superman.' I can't think of anyone that has fought (and beaten) the Surfer as many times as Thanos has.

He doesn't really have a Superman style enemy, 
Captain Marvel or Adam Warlock (Magus) might be the kind of people who know everything there is to know about a guy like Thanos, they clashed with him many times. Magus may have been a match for Thanos on power but back in the old days Thanos with his big brain found a way to  eliminate the Magus from the timeline
 
Silver Surfer would be his polar opposite, a guy who came from a world of peace instead of a world of war and murder. Even after Norrin Radd was given incredible Cosmic Power and made find worlds for Galactus to consume, Norrin was still concerned about preserving life. Unlike Thanos who was obsessed with power and the Entity Death. Back in the day Thanos used to give Surfer some terrible beat downs but it would be interesting to see them go at it again
IMO the fight would be much closer today especially after Surfer's power up in Annihilation
 
Thor - I dunno. A  lot of Avengers have fought with him, Thanos usually bats them around like an annoyance  First Appearance - Tony Stark was the first to greet him, thought he might put a fist into the face of Thanos only to discover the Titan duped him with a robotic look alike
Thanos usually bashes Avengers away. Unless Thor comes with the Infinity Gem or the Destroyer Armor, then you just get one epic slugfest 

Drax he looked very Superman for a while but even though he had great strength for a long, long time he never really filled his role as the man able to out muscle Thanos
The Destroyer Drax was reborn a third time, he looked less muscular but he was a nicely tuned instrument he finally became the garlic, the sunlight, the hawthorn stake through the heart

Thanos' superman is Adam Warlock of course , best example would be "Marvel: The End"
 
When Thanos eradicated the universe from it's existence there were two things he couldn't annihilate with all his power, himself, and... Adam Warlock.  They had a brief dialogue about it since he could never close adam out of his mind, never forgot him.

It's not about killing darkseid that makes Superman his most memorable foe, it's all the things inbetween.

Adam Warlock Is thanos' Superman without a doubt, see "Marvel: The End" for that or simply observe the fact that Adam Warlock is the Avatar of Life and Thanos is the Avatar Of Death. They both recently spawned out of that cocoon too.
