Tha starts his career as a comicbook artist aged 15, with Patufatubadix and Els Ninots for Patufet magazine. He works as an inker for famous spanish authors like Francisco Ibañez, Jose Escobar, Roberto Segura and specially with Raf, for Editorial Bruguera. For TBO magazine he draws Fort Baby and Ergo. He works as a group of four called Quatricomía, formed by him, his brother Joan Tharrats, Paco Mir and Sirvent. They publish together La Habichuela and Los Miercoles, Milagro.  
With his brother as a writer, he produces Ergo, Ciclo XXI and Qué gente!. He also works with Andreu Martin, Victor Mora and Jorge Zentner. 
As a musician, he forms in 1993 his own jazz trio, August Tharrats Trio.
