    Origin

Tension was a mutant that was infected by the Brood when they attempted to invade Earth. A paramedic named Harry Palmer was implanted with a Queen egg and started infecting mutants to create a Brood force with abilities to rival the X-Men. Numerous mutants were infected including Tension, Brickbat, Blindside, Temptress, Dive-Bomber, Lockup, Spitball and Whiphand.

Tension would snare Storm with his tentacles while Temptress tried to overload her system with her pheromones. Storm escapes when she sweeps herself away by manifesting a powerful wind gust. Tension and some of his infected Brood teammates would later engage the X-Men at a concert area. Tension attacked Reverend Connover after he tried to help Wolverine, but gets hit by a plasma blast from Havok and is killed when a wall crushes him during the fight.

The rest of his infected teammates were slain by the X-Men after they resolved that the Brood's human hosts were beyond saving.

    Creation

Tension was created by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri in 1988 and first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #232.

    Powers & Abilities
